One day I got this Facebook message from one of our clients which said roughly, "Our whole family just got motorcycles, and I think we need to get a picture of that!" My mind began to ponder all the possibilities that a family portrait with motorcycles might provide... and how cool would that be?
This client has brought me many wonderful session ideas that she wanted over the years and this one was no exception! At Cherished Images at The 8th Street Studio, we love to create art that reflects a family's culture and personality!
As with every session, we first talked about the vision behind the session. The overall vision was an open sky and an endless horizon...everything a motorcycle enthusiast loves and let that be the backdrop to this family portrait. Secondly, we talked about clothing. Jeans, T-shirts, and riding gear were undoubtedly the best choice for this session. We then had to find the perfect location to bring it all together. To top it off, we talked about wall space and what would the finished product might be, and where would it be displayed.
With all of that in mind, we scheduled a family portrait with motorcycles session and prayed for good weather!
On the day of the shoot, the weather was perfect, soft light from the west with some clouds. It couldn't have been better! I invited my good friend Bryan Bowermaster to come with me and capture some videos while I was working on this session. Not only did he get highlights, but subsequently he got a great testimonial from Diane, the client, as well.
Finally, we had the privilege of hanging those finished portraits in her home once everything was completed!
